The long-awaited FCC EAS NPRM has been published in the Federal Register. The National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations’ (NASBA) counsel Dick Zaragoza and chief EAS expert Suzanne Goucher, President of the Maine Association of Broadcasters, are looking for input from the state’s EAS experts in order to file comments on the NPRM. We don’t expect to address every rule the FCC has proposed so it’s important to identify our top concerns with the proposals. Obviously, this is an important rulemaking as EAS is one of the most important services that a broadcast station can provide the public.
