Senior Broadcast Transmission Engineer
WAMC is seeking a Senior Broadcast Transmission Engineer. This position is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, and strategic development of the station's broadcast engineering systems and information technology infrastructure. This role oversees on-air transmission, studio equipment, digital streaming, network systems, and staff computing needs, ensuring the station meets FCC regulatory requirements as the designated Chief Operator while supporting the organization's mission through dependable, forward-looking technology. Directly supervises IT staff, sound engineers, and board operators, including performance management, and scheduling.
The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of radio frequency (RF) systems, electronics, and IP networking. They must excel at problem-solving under pressure, pay close attention to detail, and communicate well with teams to prevent costly broadcast downtime.
Full-time, on-site.
Starting Salary $68,000
