Associate Producer

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER (FULL-TIME)

WLNE-TV/ABC6, the Standard Media-owned tv station in beautiful Providence, RI, is looking for a full-time Associate Producer.

The ideal candidate will enjoy writing and newsgathering and will have a desire to learn how to produce newscasts, as the position involves filling in for the newscast producers.

This is an excellent opportunity to live and work in beautiful Rhode Island. We have miles and miles of gorgeous beaches. Providence has an exploding arts scene and endless food options!

Responsibilities:

· Write scripts for various newscasts

· Produce newscasts (specifically, as a fill-in for the newscast producers)

· Edit video for newscasts as needed

· Produce content for all station digital platforms. This includes writing for the website and all digital platforms, shooting video for digital platforms and editing video for digital platforms.

· Gather news and assist the assignment desk

· Assist on news shoots as-needed

Qualifications:

· Work well under pressure and have the ability to meet deadlines throughout the day

· Be a team player with strong communication skills. The Associate Producer will work closely with the newscast producer, assignment desk, photographers, reporters and anchors to create high quality news content each day.

· Have strong writing skills

· Knowledge of a working newsroom and Adobe Premiere preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or similar field preferred
