POSITION:     PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Emmanuel Radio WNEB 1230AM Worcester and 970AM WESO Southbridge is seeking potential applicants for the position of Radio Production Assistant. The position, a paid internship through the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association, is a hands-on opportunity for anyone interested in applying skills in the fascinating world of Radio Broadcasting and Production. As part of the Production Team, you will work to produce on air content for the radio stations, create station id’s, monitor on air programming, and work at on site locations to produce short-form production content.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Produce radio ads for broadcast including recording, editing, voicing station commercials & id’s;
  • Monitor on air broadcast signal and manage reporting logs;
  • Representation of the station in a positive manner;
  • Maintenance of station vehicle and prize inventory;
  • Interaction with listeners, donors, and station supporters at station appearances;
  • Upholding appropriate station image in all production content and at all events;
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel preferred.

The successful applicant must:

  • Possess strong technical ability and have familiarity with web/mobile texting/social networking;
  • Have strong communication and organizational skills and must be able to represent the stations in a positive manner at events;
  • Have strong people skills, web/internet knowledge, and must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Possess a desire to learn more about production and marketing strategies for radio;
  • Be detail oriented, creative, outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, responsible and timely to work;
  • Have a valid driver’s license and be capable of loading station vehicle in preparation for events;
  • Be attending an accredited college/university and be in or entering their junior or senior year;
  • Be at least 18 years of age.

This is a paid internship with hours determined by the Manager. Some weekend/evening events required. Students majoring in Communications or Broadcasting are preferred but others will be considered.
