Our History

Founded in 1954, the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association (MBA) is a voluntary trade association representing over 200 over-the-air broadcasters in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

One of the MBA's key responsibilities is to assist members with broadcast industry related and general business related challenges. We offer educational seminars, legal hotlines, lobbying representation (in Massachusetts and in Washington, D.C.), the opportunity to network with other broadcasters, as well as a platform to provide broadcasters with the most up-to-date industry news and trends.

The MBA also works to promote careers in broadcasting as exciting and fulfilling career choices. Via an online job bank at massbroadcasters.org, the MBA works together with broadcasters throughout the state and surrounding states to disseminate job postings and applicant resumes to broadcasters and the public. The MBA office also maintains a file of hard copy resumes of those who do not have access to computers and the Internet.

As a member of the National Association of State Broadcasters' Associations (NASBA), the MBA works closely with sister associations throughout the country to bring new ideas and the latest services to our membership.
